Job Description/Job Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Polyethylene Production Technician is responsible for the operation and assigned maintenance of production equipment
and making necessary adjustments or minor mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and
efficient manner. Also responsible for performing and documenting required quality checks and visual inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsibility and authority as outlined in the Quality Manual, Operational Procedures and all Instruction manuals.
2. Functions within an ISO/Team environment effectively.
3. Tends to a group of blow molding machines that produce plastic containers.
4. Makes frequent quality checks on product observing it for deviation in weight, sidewall thickness, flash, poor distribution,
concavity, convexity or crooked sections and making adjustment to correct malfunctions and eliminate defects.
5. Makes periodic checks of heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures and functioning of extruder and hydraulic
pumping units.
6. Performs preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
7. Un-jams conveyor systems.
8. Observes all local and Company safety policies and procedures as well as housekeeping requirements.
9. Maintains various daily production and Team reports.
10. Performs screen changes as required.
11. Works in a safe and efficient manner at all times, monitors team members for safe practices and mentors best methods.
12. Follows and enforces company and local work rules, safety rules, policies and work instructions
13. Miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. 3-5 years of relevant work experience or a Bachelor degree in engineering, plastics, packaging or a technical field.
3. Mechanically inclined as verifiable by transcript, reference, testing, or other approved methods.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
